A budding doctor from India has been crowned Miss World 2017.Manushi Chhillar, 20, was announced as the competition's global winner at 5pm on Saturday, following weeks of gruelling pageants involving hot women from across the globe.She was swiftly crowned the 67th Miss World in Sanya, on the tropical Chinese island of Hainan, where she received rapturous applause.Manushi beat off competition from 108 other women to take the crown, which was handed over to her by 2016's winner, Stephanie Del Valle, from Puerto Rico.The panel of judges selected the brunette beauty after ruling she embodied the perfect combination of grace, beauty and intelligence.Following her high-profile win, she took to Twitter, where she posted a message saying: Thank you everyone for your constant love and support. The post was quickly 'liked' thousands of times and she fast became a trending topic.Her triumph at the ceremony makes her country the joint-most successful in the beauty pageants history.There have now been six Indian winner of the Miss World accolade, with previous title-holders including Priyanka Chopra and Aishwarya Rai.Mexico's Andrea Meza was the runner-up, while England's Stephanie Hill came third.Manushi was born to doctor parents and grew up in Haryana, a North Indian state surrounding New Delhi.She first studied at St Thomas School, Delhi, then Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Sonepat.Her advice to youngsters is: Believe in yourself and never shy away from hard work. It does not matter what others think, 'beauty' is just perception. Get up every morning, tell yourself you are beautiful and gear up to win! .
